Founded in 1958 the SFGA has been assisting hunters, fishers, and wildlife conservationist for 50 years.

We believe that habitat loss and the loss of other wild places are currently the most significant threats to the future of wildlife and wild places in the Calgary area and around the world.

Hunting and fishing activities are a natural and effective wildlife management tools in the maintenance of healthy and abundant wildlife populations in balance with the natural environment.

We encourage all hunters and anglers to become effective partners in wildlife conservation and in the development of hunting laws and regulations because of the relationships and experiences they have with the natural environment.

Our Goal is to strengthen our voice and capacity by engaging as many hunters, anglers, and conservationists as possible to participate in our activities and projects and encourage further education.

We envision a future in which wildlife and wild places are thriving and valued by our society, and where hunting and fishing continues to be a respected traditional outdoor activity.
